My body is still weak from the sickness that had entered me and stayed for so long. Thanks to Midas and Hector, I was healed of the darkness that had infected so much of Helovia. To them I will forever be indebted. I wander, no longer bloodthirsty, no longer craving souls to take and darkness to spread, I want to wander again in the light and feel the breeze - or rather the horrible frigid chill - on my skin. My very living, healthy skin. The sharpness of the cold brings me clarity. Now as I wander I realize some part of me had changed inside. There is a numbness that wasn't there before. And in addition, I realize I seek to find my love, Africa. Even if she does not love me the way I love her... It will hurt but I will manage. I want to be by her side, to love her and protect her. Lovestruck. That is what I am.

I wander toward the area I've heard is called the Veins of the Gods. If not to talk to the Gods, at the very least I want to observe its beauty. As I enter the land, however, I see there is something going on. In the distance there is a gathering, and a brightness, so bright it hurts my eyes. I realize that it must be a God... I had never believed much in the Gods, but now.. Well, there's one right before my eyes. The God of the Sun, by the looks of it - bright, practically aflame. The God of the Sun... Africa's God. I get closer, and I can see for myself. A majestic king of light, both winged and horned, standing before his shrine, charred and blackened, awaiting those who seek him. His feathers are alight, as well as his flowing mane and tail, with liquid fire. A sight so glorious I've never seen before.

I barely recognize the others present, I know none of them anyway. This may, of course, be in part because I was consumed by infection for so long. I bend to one knee and bow my head. Walking "Oh God of Light. I never believed until now. Now I know the things your Chosen Africa has told me are true. Please forgive my ignorance." In the back of my mind, I want to burst out and ask him where my beloved is, and if she is okay. Surely the one she speaks for knows of her well-being. I bite back my impulse, knowing it is improper and I must wait to ask after her.
