The newly crowned queen was enjoying her day, wandering the borders with her head held high, smile on her face, sun shining down on her. Even the cold and the snow could not keep her down. The painted queen was torn- stay in the Edge and be with her people or go to the Threshold to find new life. But today she decided she just wanted to be home, to feel the wind between the trees, to relearn the lay of the land that had been wasted by the darkness and the wraiths. Perhaps the only good thing that had come of the darkness was the general disarray of the wall. Unfortunately, today was not to be the joyous day that she anticipated. She came upon the pair in the woods, the stallion on the ground and Eva beside him, and even the simple Queen knew that something wasn't write. Resplendence had taught her enough for her to know when illness was tolerable and when it was life threatening. What she saw here was certainly not good. Unfortunately, any of the lessons Resplendence had attempted to teach her about herbs had sorely failed to stick in. “RESPLENDENCE,” she cried out suddenly, unaware that Eva had already sent her dragon on a mission to find the fallen angel. And then she trotted over to Eva, halting before her, concern evident on her face. “Eva, what can I do?” With pleading eyes, the woman who was supposed to be in charge looked with earnest to her philosopher. “Sir,” she offered then to the man on the ground, her demeanor nervous.
