A dark, ominous sky stretched above the usually inviting meadow. Night was falling over the land, the moons glow barely peeking out of angry clouds. An ashen form moved through the grassy expanse, alone. Distant growls of thunder would normally have frightened the mare, but her strength had been drained from her recent entrance into Helovia. Without a human to guide her, nor the company of another equine, she trudged forwards with a strange determination. Her thoughts flashed to her experience in the Threshold. What was I thinking? Chasing after someone I don't even know.. A regretful sigh escaped her velvet nares. The painted stallion she sought was nowhere to be found. A river's outline glinted to the left of the silver belle. With slightly renewed vigor, she headed for the water. Though she was bred for endurance, lasting over a day without any water was not a pleasant thing. Pale flints stepped gently into the river's edge, the water calming their weary ache. As the dappled dame's muzzle lowered to meet the liquid, crisp raindrops began to reach the ground. The rain danced over the girl and the stream, and the soft lull of precipitation began to echo through the plain. Sky blue eyes began to close, and Bellatrix fell into a light slumber. She dreamed of her home, and her human companions there. Images of the golden pegasus, Arria, blurred through her mind. But most of all, she dreamed of the strange stallion she'd met in the Threshold, his emerald pools lingering in her mind. She dreamed of shadows coming to life and chasing the ebony splashed boy. And once again, he was running off into darkness. |
