Israfel's departure had cut the God of the Sun more deeply than he had initially realized. His first, little flame and daughter of light had ascended never again to be spoken to or taught, and as he watched Roskuld, Hototo and Mesec, he realized that there was not only an imbalance in power but in his heart. He had been very proud of his daughter and her wisdom. She had been a sweet soul, so much so that the darkness of the world had been too much. At least, he knew, that she was in a better place, one of light and glory.
Mourning had happened long ago, and as such, he was prepared to bring balance once more. Secretly, he looked forward to having another child. Though he usually avoided relationships with mortals, a relationship with a long-lived demi-god child would be very... normal. He envied normal (rarely). He could be a father again, teach and train in the beauty of fire and light, show her or him how glorious and beautiful they could be. The only issue which stood in his way now was the other half of this genetic equation.
As he ruminated over the choices, thinking sourly of Smoke and her opinions (and subsequent deviation to his sister's herd). Why would he venture further than his own herd? Had he now chosen two, beautiful, capable and stunning mares to rule his land? Two choices, and now his life became increasingly more difficult. While Africa was beautiful and sweet, he wanted the child to end up with a tenacious spirit, strong-willed and perhaps even a little wild.
Ampere.
Now, he only had to see if she would consent. He wasn't THAT much of an animal, after all. "Ampere," he called, striding naturally and mortally around the Oasis, closer to the old tree.
