"What is it?"

"I don't know." Ktulu murmured as she stared at the structure she and Eytan had just stumbled upon. "Some kind of ... structure." The bear snorted and rolled his eyes. "Duh." He retorted as he ambled past his bonded to get a closer look at the rotunda. "What's inside?" Ktulu looked down at the bear as he looked up at her imploringly and she shifted her shoulders in a manner reminiscent of a shrug. "I don't know." She said, knowing that the only way to answer his question was to go inside, but she was hesitant. She'd known every inch of the forest, or so she had thought, and never before had she seen this. It had only revealed itself after the darkness and so she had her suspicions. Nothing good had come of the darkness, this she reminded herself every day when she thought of Lakota lying on the floor of the caves in a puddle of her own blood.

"Lets go look."

Everytime she began to drift back to the haze she had been in when she'd attacked Lakota Eytan snapped her out of it. As she walked forward her head lowered and she brushed her muzzle against the top of the grizzly's head. She was quiet as she slipped past the drapes, her hooves clacking against the stone floor of the rotunda. It was wide and open and ... completely empty. Her ears tilted back as she looked around, a little disappointed that it was empty. Part of her had hoped that the ancient bear would be there, that he hadn't really died. Another part of her had hoped that maybe Lakota would be standing there so she could have another chance to apologize for hurting her the way she had. Another part of her had hoped for something to fight so she could numb herself to the dark memories that plagued her mind.

"Not your fault."

Ktulu ignored the bear as told her the same thing for the hundredth time. It wasn't her fault she'd attacked Lakota. It wasn't her fault she'd tried so hard to kill her. No matter how many times she said she'd known what she was doing and had done it on purpose he still told her the same thing. Eytan shook his head as his bonded ignored him and he slipped past the billowing drapes once more and left her standing in the rotunda alone with her thoughts.
