You hate her. You hate her with every ounce and fiber of your being. You hate her from hoof to head, from nose to tail, even your horns reverberating with seething rage at the very thought of her. You have tried to remain calm, you have tried to distance yourself, you have tried to be patient. But patience can only take you so far- you are a warrior through and through. Words are fine and talking is all good and well, but when the going gets tough, you fight. And if this is just another challenge, if this is just another bump in the road, you will face it head on and you'll meet the challenge with all the strength that you possess. After all- you're Oxy and you're not afraid.

You've been gone- a day, a week? It doesn't matter, you're back now and your boiling veins have not settled at all. You stomp the path to the meeting ground, thankful that it seems to have cleared out since the last big gathering. That's all you would need is a bunch of obnoxious spectators to get in the way. You're also thankful the snow seems to have melted a little, the winter season drawing to a close. As you move, you can feel your shod hooves pressing into the semi-frozen ground, giving you traction, aiding you in your forward momentum.

In your head, your boggart companion sends you a flurry of emotion ranging from fright to disdain but you ignore them all. She thinks you're rash, that you are jumping into this too soon, but you disagree. Sooner is better, now is best. If you wait then Red will think she's gotten the best of you, she'll think that she actually deserves the position she's been given. But if you attack now, if you take her down and make her beg for mercy on the ground, she knows. You were meant for this position, it's yours and she has taken it. Fuck tournaments, fuck working harder for something you've already worked so hard for. It comes down to this and you're not backing down.

A blood curdling scream flies from your lips as you begin to trot around all wild-eyed. You toss your head and flick your tail in an egregious display of chaos. “RED,” you bellow out, remembering how she tried to seduce you, tried to make you play her game. But you don't play games. You're no toy, no pawn. You are the game maker, the master, the God of War. You will not play second fiddle to her and she has to know that. Your challenge has been made and you are ready. The bag that settles upon your shoulder, and even it's intoxicating contents, are all but forgotten. You're just high enough to keep your body functioning- and to make Red's wish it wasn't.

Setting: As noted, lightly snow covered ground, a few trees in the clearing near the pond where the meeting was held. Time is early morning with the sun rising behind the mountains.
