It did not take long for the council the queen knew she could count on to arrive. Aaron to her left, guarding her open side and Resplendence on the far side of Kaj. Resplendence's arrival was nothing short of chaotic and the queen was quickly sent shuffling back and forth as she tried to decipher the emotions that were flooding within her. Resplendence was by far her best friend in the entire world and it pained her acutely to hear Kaj scold her. And yet, the queen couldn't help but turn her head and narrow her eyes, the feelings of her king very much her own. Kahlua was striving, yearning, working so hard to make friends, not enemies. To have Resplendence come in and ruin what could have been a great leap forward in relations between the Edge and the Basin... But the tension passed as quickly as it came. The dragon was controlled and nobody seemed very upset in the long term. Kahlua relaxed and returned her attention to the meeting at hand, glad that she had the support of friends on her own side and, at the very least, of Lena on the other side. It still concerned her that Illynx was there.

As Illynx continued on with introductions, Kahlua was still pained with whether or not to expose the golden lady as the cruel beast she was. But, on the other hand, she continued with her desire to make friends and not enemies. But, could she knowingly lead her people into the potential danger of an alliance with this monster? Or perhaps she had just had a bad day so long ago in the snow... Kahlua sighed, her face clearly showing all of her pains and struggles. For all her desires to be a diplomat, the queen was terribly miserable at saving her own face.

She was lucky, then, that Kaj was there with her. Wherever the queen found trouble, wherever the queen might struggle or stumble, her king would be there to hold her up, to guide her, to give her strength. And she drew on his strength now, looking up to him, letting him guide their conversation. The word war pained her, made her shiver in her very bones, but the queen trusted him to know what he was doing. He loved the Edge as strongly as she did, desired the same peace that she did, and he would not lead them astray. He was their Stormbringer, gathering rain to wash away the sins that covered their lands. And she was their Sunshower, to bring light when all the evils had been washed clean.

“I know nothing of the Regime,” was all she added for now, a murmur mostly for her king so that he might know where she stood. Poor queen that she didn't know she had been within the very midst of one, standing so close to him that she could have touched him. Tyradon, the hateful monster she had met in the meadow with Aaron. But he had given her no hint and she had not known to supect him, how could she? So the patient queen waited, watching and wondering what her king would make come of this strange meeting.
