every day the gods are flipping coins

When he looked at her, he had disturbing eyes. Had Liit been alone in the shadow of the great tree amongst the field of purple thistles, she would have cautiously backed away, but instead she had the subtle backing of the red mare. Despite not being alone, she was still discomforted at the way he looked at her, and all the pale woman could do was stare back, listening to the soft, feminine words of the red. She catches her name and makes sure to file that carefully away somewhere- perhaps it would do well for the supposed beasts in the Basin to not be aware of her fraternizing with the winged kind.

Subtly reminded of the painted girls words and staring the greasy stallion in the eye, she felt a small, invisible shiver crawl up her spine, finding herself worried that Lena was the exception to the monstrosities that Abishia had spoken of.

Liit is mentally jarred when the stallion says his name, accented by a rather uninterested look in his clouded eyes and a long string of spittle that ran freely from his lips. Now Liit would have furrowed her brow and cringed at such a sight, but her kind was incapable of the complexities of facial expression, so instead she gapes and stares in his direction as he moves towards the tree before turning back to Delsolea. “My name is Liit.” She imagined the red mare would be more likely to be interested in her name, being that she had offered hers first and the stallion was going about relieving an itch in the middle of their conversation.

After a moment of contemplation, the little mare looks back at the stallion, now positioned on the other side of the tree and rubbing it rather furiously. Clearing her throat, as if to get his attention (and acting rather boldly on her part, no doubt fueled by the presence of the winged mare) she speaks up again. “Are you always so social, or are we blessed today?” The tone she uses to address him sounds as though she is asking a legitimate question, instead of making a poke at his social inabilities. Perhaps she said it because he was more socially inept than she was, Liit wasn’t entirely sure.

ooc: lol, Liit is kind of making me think of Bernadette from The Big Bang Theory....
