The spider could see others gathering. She left her cold northern home for the sheer sake of it. There were poisons to be found throughout Helovia and she needed to find them to gain her own. But her quest was shoved aside when she saw the others running and for a moment she stood there, until her eyes rested on what they sought. Her eyes also focused upon a painted thing and disgust and rage filled her stomach, the chou was there. Such an ugly thing didn’t deserve whatever prize they sought.

Jorogumo ran her developing legs drawing her forward. It was faster than she had ever run before, faster than when she ran from the darkness. There was nothing that could stop her from claiming this prize as her own. This egg would be hers, she was no longer the loser, the weakling, she was the conqueror, the Spider Queen. This would be her first conquest. Her youth meant nothing. One way or another that egg would fall into her clutches, and she would be more than willing to let heads roll for her treasure. After all, a queen needed to strike fear into those that she ruled.

She pushed herself further and further, driving herself closer and closer. The prize was waiting, the prize would be hers, she could hear it calling out for it’s true master. The spider knew not what was in it or the price of her greed would bring or the young life that lay in wait for someone to bond it’s soul with.
