Kahlua
Perhaps the queen could use a lesson in ruthlessness from the golden bitch, some time to learn the art of leadership, because though Illynx might literally be the scum of the earth, she had a cunning mind and knew how to lead her people. Kahlua came here with good intentions and did nothing but hurt her herds cause, make them appear weak and not even know it. Kaj played the game well, the tit and tat, the back and forth played between the royals in this game of thrones, but one was not enough when the second would go behind his back and make all of his hard work fall under the pull of her stupidity. But can you teach an idiot to be conniving? Can you teach a fool to be aware of how what secret meanings their words may have? Or do you have to live with a fool, accept that she is useless and love her because she is benevolent but hate her because she does not know what she does?

The queen finds an answer to her question of the sentinel first and wants to look back down but does not yet want to look to Illynx who wears her ears backwards now. Instead, Kahlua finds her gaze headed back towards the small child who frolics with the metal scorpion. She couldn't help but notice that the thing was starting to creak more and move a little slower. The crafter had said it would wear down in time, though. Was its time near?

Is he not stunning? the GildedBlade claims and for a moment Kahlua is left wondering if the queen means the sentinel or Ulrik. For the paint, the answer to one was a resounding yes and the other an equally strong no. The queen decided, so that she might answer affirmatively, that Illynx meant the statue. “What creations the Gods let us build never cease to amaze me.” At the same time, she released the hold on her rank magic that she had been building up. There seemed to be no reason for its use right now. Illynx was surprisingly at peace. Or perhaps she had been surprisingly restless that day on the river and this was normal for the golden woman. Kahlua had yet to decide.

As Illynx traipsed then into the story of her past, Kahlua could not help but wonder if she was intentionally being as abrasive as possible. Pure, unstained, the winged ones. No doubt she had come here knowing that Illynx had some form of hatred for the equines and pegasi, but still... Kahlua sighed. She did not understand the necessity of remaking a point that was already obvious, even to her. But then, she had asked the questions, so what right did she have to dispute how the answers were given to her?

And her lessons in the truth. If Kahlua had been the philosopher that Dragomir had dreamed her to be she might wonder how one decided what truth was the real truth. Because of course Illynx thought that she was correct, Kahlua thought that her ideals were more holy and surely there were countless others with just as many conflicting truths. But she does not wonder these things and instead is left to shudder as she comes to realize she is in the presence of not only a racist bitch queen, but also a murderer. She had forgiven Mauja for his sins against the Edge (the ones that she was aware of) but he had claimed fear for his very life as a motivator. The queen was not so quick to forgive Illynx who, she assumed, could have found repayment for the debts owed her in other ways. And at any rate, the golden queen showed no remorse.

But the queens golden tales, her silken stories, are entrancing and for a moment Kahlua is left to wonder if they really are true. Were the unicorns first? Was she a mutation, a sin in her own right? Was she really so plain as she was made to feel? But no, though she was weak of personality she was resolute in her ideals. “Surely you can't kills us all,” she responds suspiciously, eyes closing as pictures of massive bloodshed and dead bodies invade her mind. Broken wings and broken necks strewn across the ground. “What would you do with the rest of us?” She opens her eyes, refusing to believe that she would be one of the dead. After all, it was Illynx who had proposed an alliance. Would she break it when the time as right? “And I'm not plain,” she pouted at the end, not able to resist trying to save her honor. Of course, the fact that she was wearing Dragomir's harness likely only proved her point that she needed something added to herself in order to make her pretty, but the queen was rather proud of Dragomir's work anyways.
