How creepy.

Sacre looked about with a shudder and moaned inwardly that his first patrol would be in a place like this. Yet, he swallowed back the gnawing fear of the eerie looking wood before him and entered slowly. If he was ever to become anything remotely powerful or respected then he couldn't be afraid of walking through a forest on his own. Well, besides, he wasn't really on his own. Inari was always there and the two hoped they would be together until the day they died. That was many more years of exploration and many times when scary forests might not be the only thing making his skin crawl. When he thought about it more he felt a little silly, after all he'd been a captive of the Edge and dragged away from his family. He'd travelled alone before finding Inari and in that time they had spent together they had met some very strange horses. What was a creepy looking forest compared to all of that?! The boy began to walk with a little more confidence now. He was a stallion of the Dragons Throat and the son of powerful progenitors, one day the world would tremble at his feet and finally he could create a place for himself and Roux to wander in peace.

That day, however, was a long way off yet and he still trembled too much before the world. One step at time and one day he would find that soldier's heart to fight off the darkness. If the darkness didn't find him first.

Inari was curled into a tight ball on his rump with just a tuft of red fur sticking up on top of his head. The vulpine had hunted down a nest that had fallen from a tree and, like the thief he was, stole the contents for his breakfast. By the time he had finished and the sun was peaking at midday, they had entered this perfect scene for a horror story. Carrying his friend, Sacre carefully picked his way through the undergrowth with eyes growing wider as he noted the gashes struck through the mighty pines and yet, the place as a whole was a contradiction the boy had decided. Because, in the sunlight, it was almost as if the horror like veil lifted and was replaced by a fairytale of wonder, a mystical forest that almost looked magical until the light was shrouded and the graveyard scene appeared once again. It was enough to capture the youth's attention and he travelled deeper in, reminding himself to keep listening for the footsteps of strangers and that of his herd mates.

How can you smile
With your lips wrapped around a loaded gun

There's something wretched about this
Something so precious about this
