If you didn't already appreciate the fire man's battle prowess, you'd probably be a little more upset that he's adopted that 'poor stupid' tone of voice. As it is, you resign yourself to feeling mildly hurt. But then you decide to forgive him, because he's probably just as anxious to get this whole thing over with too. Maybe he even wants to lead.
