Helovia, it seemed, had given up one of its many secrets in the time that she had been away. Snö had almost not noticed the opening to the underground cave as she moved past, but when it caught her attention she could not fight the strange desire to delve into the darkness of the underground world and explore it. There were risks, of course, but her curiosity outweighed the risks. What was the worst thing that could be down here? Felcie and his dog of a son? Her ears tilted back but she quickly dismissed the possibility, telling herself that she had left them far behind. There was no way they would find her here.

The heat above ground had been nearly unbearable for the icy girl but as she made her way deeper into the underground it became cooler. It was not cool enough to the point where she would be comfortable, but at least sweat would not begin to lather her body. Blue eyes were sharp and she took in as much of the scenery as she could while she moved through the passageway. Strange structures jutted from the floor and hung from the ceiling, some of them resembling the very horn she wore upon her brow. Aside from the strange structures and the bright wall on one side of the room there was nothing particularly intriguing about the first room that she had entered, so the mare carried on.

There was another room nearby that it seemed had some form of light inside of it. Fire, she suspected, judging from the way the light seemed to flicker and dance, fade and then become brighter. Cloven hooves carried the girl toward it and as she entered the room she found it to be much more interesting than the first room she had come across. In one part of the room stood a wall that seemed to have drawings on it. There was also a pool that bubbled and made Snö suspect that the water was hot, boiling, because of the fire in the heart.

Then there was her mother.

While it was not nearly as bad as finding Felcie in there, Snö had little to say to the woman that had given birth to her. They had never seemed to be able to get along. Like Mauja, Psyche had been too preoccupied with herself and the Plague to really pay attention to her daughter. At least that was how Snö saw it. Even when she had come back and been met in the Threshold by her mother the girl had not stayed around long enough to say more than 'hi' and stare at her broken horn.

"Hiding?" Her voice, though quiet, seemed magnified in the deathly silence of the cave. "Or are you too ashamed to show yourself?" Snö cared very little for the fact that her mother's horn had been broken off. Just because it was gone did not change the fact that the blood of a unicorn flowed in her veins. It did not change her genetic makeup so much as her physical. She wondered if any of Psyche's precious Plague were able to see that or if they were all short-sighted and dim-witted, stuck only on appearances. Did they damn her to a life of isolation or did she do it to herself as it seemed everyone in their screwed up family did?
