But Tolio wasn't the only one feeling his age. Returning to the blue always brought back so many memories...most of which were pleasant, all of which seemed ancient. Meeting Levi in the skies...and Sohalia. Her quest for her companion...Returning. Tolio... She almost could not think of the cinnamon stud without a thousand other faces accompanying his: Faelene. Their daughters... Sometimes it was too much. Often, Phaedra avoided this place entirely. Let the memories stay buried here - what good was it to dig them up, only to have to bury them again?

But today...Phae let herself fly. She let the currents take her where they always seemed to pull - towards the blue. Often, she thought what it might be like to fly straight out into the depths. To continue until her wings grew tired, and fall like a dove into the sea. Perhaps there would be land to catch her, but perhaps not. Either way, there she would surely be free of a past which would never seem to let go.

As these thoughts tumbled in her mind, Phae let herself drift closer to the short, sea-green gaze absently scanning the waves. All at once, the past seemed to rush against her, causing her wings to beat against invisible currents. Her breath caught in her throat, as an imagine which burned so vividly in her mind, had suddenly materialized below. But...where have you been! She thought, furious in the moment. Without thought, her body dove downwards, wings nimbly tucked to her sides. She angled herself towards the waves, casting her oddly-pattern wings from her sides in time to nimbly skim the forth as she swept past him. Bring herself around easily - her body glistening like a shooting star - she landed elegantly upon the beach. A light sheen of sweat covered her svelte, sooty coat, emphasizing the brilliant white of the few spots that dotted her shoulders and neck. The magic from the moon-bear pulsed in her creamy locks (had he seen that before?), as she regarded the handsome steed with a cool, but flirtatious gaze. Although fury, longing, flirtation, melancholy, anger, and the desire to brag all welled upon within her golden breast, she could not voice any of it. All she could say was,

"Enjoy long walks on the beach, sugar?" She called, reiterating the first words that she ever spoke to him - which somehow seemed fitting. It was almost as if they were meeting all over again.

Even so, for all their familiarity and history, Phaedra felt naked and self conscious. She had aged, not much, and well, but even so...Her body had undergone a few changes, and not all came with dazzling sparkles. Her body was hardened - not as soft and supple as it previous had been - a testament to her time as a spy in the Grey, and as ruler. What would he think of her now?
