Only one arrived after Somnus, and his eyes only lingered on the newcomer for a few seconds before he turned back the this Lord. He had addressed some of the gatherers, though no words were spoken to him, so Somnus remained further silent. The stallion then spoke to all of them of a task. Cool, calculating eyes watched him curiously and listened intently as he spoke, '...the cleverest and best of you. And who that is, remains to be seen...These flowers require nourishment. Water.' Only the cleverest and best? No equal opportunities? A small smirk filled his lips and he shifted his weight between legs as he gazed at the peculiar flowers surrounding this Lord.

'Bring me water from a mirage in these Fields,' Somnus heard him say, and saw a smile upon his golden face. His blue eyes looked at him pointedly, then to the shimmering mirages that danced far in the distance. Many got to work instantly, shifting their bodies or using their own magic to their advantage. Somnus saw no way how his sand magic would help him in this situation though kept it pulsing underneath him, a soothing rhythm of sound. He watched the others carefully, weighing which was best to help with (that is, if they would let him help), or which was a good idea to try himself.

Glancing at the mirages, Somnus then turned back to the Lord. "These mirages are merely an illusion while the flowers are real. An illusion cannot nourish something that is real," he murmured softly, eyes glancing up into the Lords own, Somnus' calm, yet also showing a twinge of nervousness that his answer would not be what he was looking for. If he was a Lord, he could probably somehow make an illusion be able to water these flowers, correct? So maybe he should try his hand at getting water to these flowers if that was the case. Quietly, Somnus moved and watched the change and ripple of the mirages before he positioned himself slightly behind and to the side of the golden steed so that one mirage flowed into another that glistened underneath the golden flowers. Somnus knew this idea was rather inferior to some (and already used) of the things the others managed to work up and complete, but it was too late to try and help any of them, and it would not be fair to join forces with another and steal their credit. The ebony and gold stallion, still without the simple knowledge of his own name, awaited eagerly to see if he had pleased this Lord, and for what would come next.

Summary: Tells that since the mirages are an illusion of water, and the flowers are real, that the mirages can't nourish these flowers because of that. Despite his observation, Somnus decides to try and morph the mirages so that they are connected to each other, so that it leads to, and fills in underneath the flowers
