Rostislav He said new members, I'm going to get myself some new members. New recruits. Yes, I will take them and bring them back to the Falls with me. But maybe I can do it nicely and have them like me, too! But I'm not sure I should get my hopes up so high. Wandering through the threshold, I let my blurry vision scan through the trees. It's hard to tell what's a living creature and what's trees animated by bad eyes and a bad headache. Eventually, I find something that appears to be a living creature. Not just one, but a few. I don't recognize any of them. A stallion, a mare, and a filly. I have no idea which of them - if any (or all?) - is a newcomer. I pick up a trot and find a path through the trees toward them, coming up from behind. Greetings! I cough more gruffly than I mean to. As I approach I hear the end of their conversation, but it doesn't give me much information at all. A stammered apology from the mare. Eavesdropping isn't working out for me. But perhaps an upfront conversation will. If these are members of other herds, then I will have to steal the newcomer out from under them. But who is the noob..... Damaris barks in the distance, calling me out for being ridiculous. She's hunting for small game while we look for recruits. She, too, has been looking for new bodies to take back to the Falls. Living bodies, that is. She keeps her distance now, letting us do our thing in peace while she keeps hunting. I smile and send encouragement and feelings of happiness her way, knowing that she will be successful with hunting. She's been getting better and better, and I wonder if we'll have to start moving around more for her to not overdo it in one location. Gotta keep the prey thriving. Walk. Talk.
