The ground disappears before him, as if it had never existed, and the child gasps aloud- but not in fear. He gasps in awe and wonder. More magic, more tricks. Can he ever understand the magic that exists in this land? Really understand it? His child's mind tells him yes. But in order to understand, he must be willing to immerse himself in this magic. And so, while another stallion hesitates nearby, the half-child braves on. His trust in turtle is immense. Besides, he can see another mare already bouncing about on the clouds. She is not falling, so why should he?
With the naïve mind of a child, knowing no danger, he rushes forward. His only concern, if brief, is for his companion, whose mind is not so eager as Adelric's. Stay, he commands the cerndyr. He does not know if Tobias understands him, he has not tried giving him a direct command before, but he does not want the little fawn to follow him when there is fear in his heart. Luckily, Tobias seems to understand and the deer stops prancing while Adelric surges forward.
With a mighty leap from short, foal limbs, Adelric's hefty body floats through the air, just barely making it to his intended cloud. Hooves scramble against the edge and a panic that belongs to Tobias, not himself, floods his mind. But he pushes back against it, trying to remain brave in the pursuit of knowledge, and he pushes himself harder for the next jump. He leaps with more strength and more speed this time, choosing a path of short distance between clouds, and it seems his intelligence might help him. He lands on the next cloud more solidly. Now, to just make it through the ring...
