The sounds of autumn carried them into the winds, crisp leaves flowing, falling, fluttering, twigs crackling, frost crinkling and slinking over wet dew, into the breezes, into the wild, frigid tempests, lost amongst the waves and the earth, polishing horizons with singsong leisure, breaking apart the inhospitable warrens with a torrent of their own honeyed grandeur. While they swam in time to the glories of Orangemoon’s movement, a chilling, prosperous affair, another shuffle of resonance brought and seized their wayward attention, enticed, allured, spellbound them through the forest, diving amongst the trees, following the echoing chambers, beguiled by an alteration in the streamlined air; a staccato, a beat, a crescendo not made by many beasts. Peeking their heads through the massive clearing, the mysterious emblem’s conundrum was solved immediately: to Lena’s embarked surprise, Illynx, her son, and her companion concocted and composed both song and dance. Inching out of the brambles and thorns, hoping to not intrude on their privacy but merely become an entranced audience, the two became mellifluous witnesses to a beautiful scene. As mother and child waltzed to the cadence and pulse of motion, the Time Mender watched the steps, inclined her head left and right, sought to perform them in smaller movements in their stretch of wood and copse, forever hoping, embarking, scaling new essences and intrigues to their minuets. A leap, a twirl, a spiral, grace, elegance, and an aura of delicacy she’d never seen Illynx exude before (because an asp was powerful, not webbed and fibered into intricate, dainty moments), pervaded amongst the scene, and the desire to execute the gestures burned into her limbs, frenetic, untamed, unbidden. Instead, as their finale burst and ended, she extended her warm greetings through wholesome rhapsody, combining with Imogen’s enlightened twitters into a rapturous decree. “What a wonderful dance! Well done!” She smiled, broad and cherubic, towards the young Rikyn and the tiny Kyst, hoping to proclaim their accomplishments amongst the skyline and autumn atmosphere, flanked and cherished in the impending festivities. “You must have practiced many times to have done so well.”
