It was the first time she’d ventured into the far north since that fateful incarceration in the Basin. The landscape was pristine. Fresh powder snow lay thickly across the ground, and the air was utterly frigid, breath rolling from burning nostrils in spiralling vaporous plumes; those which also rose about her thin, dapple grey coat as she passed through, shivering. Ordinarily she would not have dared step upon this terrain, part of her was fearful, a loathing deeply-rooted, though the memory was beginning to fade. Her eyes were set upon the horizon however, enthralled, a childish mind led astray by the phenomenal blue, fire-ball star which had plunged from the deep night sky.
As she stepped across the flat, she became aware of the presence of another mare, a Unicorn, pale and finely built. Africa’s throat rumbled nervously, all too aware of the territory she skirted, and smiled with considerable reserve as she moved to give the stranger a noticeably wide berth- the region was vast, there was room to spare. Creamy eyes left the spiralling horn of the other at last, dancing from the sharp tip towards the sky once more; the sliver of silvery moon, and the beautiful star which was nearing (presumably) the end of its life. Like the horned mare nearby, Africa stood beneath, motionless; chin lifted far into the bitterly cold air, gaze trained to the glowing spectacle.
Her mood was sombre, and she felt personally as though the star’s glittering, burning halo held some foreboding message- though what, she really could not decide.

Summary: Africa sees the star fall from the northern sky and follows it until she is standing knee deep in the snow of the Steppe, gazing wonderingly at it.
