At last, some success in these silly ventures. The black brute gives a wolfish grin, eyes a spark. The gold smiled too, for he knew what intentions were forming in that mind. It should have scared him. Should have pushed him into a fit of worry for what trouble he brought to his herd’s door step. But how could it, for the golden’s ultimate goal was the same devastation that crafted a decision in the black’s mind. What a better way to cause trouble and avoid blame than simply recruit one to do it for him! Especially under the guise of a weary traveler. So the golden son smiles right back at that black’s words, even ignoring the usual harmful mistake of a nickname. Dipping those twin horns the golden turned, gold coat a flash in the morning sun. “Try and keep up hot shot.” Rolled out the chuckle, and the Spanish man shot off at brisk three beat.

---------------------

Sides burned slightly with the need to breath, but head kept up high, looking back to check on his little follower. If he slowed the gold would too, but if he met the golden son stride for stride then the race was one. Sure the gold was tired as the mountains began to rise in the distance, but he had not all together forgotten the ‘goldie’ slip, and so would push that black wolf as hard as he would like the golden son. At last the green pines began to fall away, and they sped past the running falls of the Hidden Falls. The ground began to rise, but the path was clear, well kept from the many journeys the Basiners had made. It did feel slightly invigorating to inhale the sharp cold air here in the highlands. Slowly the gold himself was becoming used to the icy grip of his home.

At last large ice walls rose, and snowy banks were close enough to feel. Even the cloven hooves could not traverse this terrain at a smart pace, so the gold relented and moved into a walk, shaking out that Spanish head, and moist gold coat. For a while he walks looking back to check on his charge. Hopefully the run hadn’t scared him off, but the gold couldn’t resist a little fun. After a moment the golden son spoke once more in a low rumbling voice. “Also, Glodie won’t do anymore, Thranduil, at your service.” The twin horned head twisted around and nodded, before turning back to speak again. “And I suppose Blackie isn’t your name either…” Earth eyes look over at the wolfish creature to see. Oh course he’d be more than happy to continue with Blackie, no one could say it didn’t fit him.

Finally, what he had been looking for. A large crack ran down the wall of ice, and the gold slipped easily in. A solid wall of cold air greeted him in the arch and the gold harks pin down slightly at the annoyance. One day soon he had to get used to this damn cold. At least he had gotten better about the ice. With a smirk he called back, “Watch your step.” A small chuckle rolls past his lips, but he quickly controlled the high that came from their, little jog. “This is the way into the valley of the Aurora Basin. Two sentinels guard the other side. You’ll find all you need once we get there.” Then with a devilish grin, the gold was glad he could not see he added, “But first we’ll need to get you all checked in. Let’s hope the Lady is in.” He did so hate that other damned death demon. Though he was the gold’s lord, he did not have to be obeyed. It was only for his lady’s sake the gold behaved himself at all really.

The icy walls fell away, the day’s light at last shined down upon the gold’s mountainous home. Don’t let the noun fool you. It would never truly be the gold’s home. No, there was too much destruction to cause here. With a smile he sidles to a stop, and lifts that twin horned head to ring out a call for one of their ranked to come and take this new comer off his hands. The gold was a busy man you see, and besides, he trusted this creature could cause trouble all on his own.
