Rekshana
❝Hold on to your heart; never let nobody take it over, ever take it from you.❞

From mountainous terrain the mare had descended here now to these placid meadows in search of quite possibly a new dwelling, as she had grown tired of walking the world alone. The painted hues of her body moving through the frosted grass, bearing the grace of her mother and the battle prowess of her father, she held the memories of her kin dear to her heart and everything she did was to make those memories proud. There were times during her travels that the lady found herself talking to her dearest sister as though she sat there beside her. It was comforting although some might frown upon these calming practices she did not care what anyone else thought about these things, it was her life and she would live it as she pleased.

Despite the many thoughts that surged through Rekshana's mind, she kept herself moving, beating on. Frozen grass crunched gently beneath her hooves as she stepped. Somehow the equine felt unusually exhausted, yet the day was only just beginning. Exhaling heavily, breath visible in the frigid air, a fatigued sigh slipped from her delicate lips. No happiness was to fill her heart; nor smile to grace her gentle features. The once prospering land she had been born into was no longer unperturbed. The woman had become left with nothing but a bittersweet reminiscence and a broken spirit. Everything had come to exceed her limits, it was too much for the girl to come to peace with. Where she was headed next, Rekshana did not know. But she would go somewhere. A place where she did not feel quite so forsaken.

Now, the sun rose high in the azure sky, but a frosty winter cold rose up from the ground as she moved quickly in search of somewhere to rest her weary legs. Lifting her head, she breathed heavily despite the temperature, the scents of the chilled meadow drawn to her. There were horses here, but none whose scent was remotely recognizable. Stopping, she looked about. She was in the open now, but ahead in the distance she could see that trees rose up from the earth, tall and tightly knit. That was as far as her vision would reach. Still, she remained watchful, hoping that maybe she would spot someone she could talk to, although she was yet to have such luck. It had been a long time since she had seen another of her kind. Letting her eyes search the skies as equally as the land, there was no telling if someone would be on the wing above and watching her, but again she was not with any success.

(Open to anyone! I haven't got a clue where I would like Rekshana to go yet so all herds and groups who are willing to claim her are welcome.)
