Her breath frosted the air in front of her face and the chill of the wind seemed to bite straight through her coat and seep into her bones. Orangemoon had definitely gone by too quickly and Frostfall had sunk its claws in too deeply far too quickly. Most of the leaves in the Edge's forest had shed their leaves and those leaves were already hidden under a layer of snow that crunched under her hooves. It was certainly not Evangeline's favorite time of the year and because of that it always seemed like it lasted the longest.

Overhead thick grey clouds blotted out what little bit of warmth and comfort the sun could provide. "I think its going to snow." Evangeline murmured to her companion who was just as unhappy with the change in weather as she was. 'Dark fast.' Tallis said in return, eliciting a nod from his bonded. It was only a matter of time before the sun sank below the horizon, bringing the temperature with it. "We should build a fire." The orange mare suggested as she looked to her companion. "If you gather some sticks I'll clear a place."

As Tallis flew off Evangeline began pawing at the ground, shoving snow aside and revealing the bare ground beneath. Tallis returned several minutes later and dropped a few twigs onto the cleared patch of land then flew off again as his bonded continued to shovel snow away. Once she had cleared a big enough space she began gathering sticks and piling them until she felt like there were enough. Without having to be asked Tallis landed beside the sticks and exhaled a plume of fire, setting them alight quickly. It gained in strength, but it was far from being strong enough to provide the comfort and warmth that Eva wanted, but it was better than nothing.
