A crisp breeze enticed leaves from their branches, sending them whirling to the forest floor. Beneath the hazed blue sky, a roaned mare meandered through the wood. Without much purpose, except to maybe get a loose grasp on her bearings. The fiery dame knew she had ended up in a place she had never been before, but it was to be expected. She had been fairly nomadic for the last few years. The only home she'd had once had not been much of a home - it was too full of arrogance and greed to be a good place for a filly. For some reason, being raised by such bull-headed creatures had left her with some decent values. She had even known enough to leave, to go out on her own and see things through her own eyes, unclouded by the opinions and biases of others. Unfortunately, a cold disdain was almost constant in those eyes. The ivory splashed vixen slipped into a slow canter through the forest's maze. Her agile form lept over fallen logs and careened around tree roots. Dark hooves even kicked up in a carefree manner as she came into a small clearing. She slowed back into a walk and stepped through the small area. Short, sickly grasses poked through the soil, along with pale mosses and lichens. Sorcha's rose hued maw dipped down to the plants, taking in the clear scents of past activity. Smiling slightly, she wondered if she was trespassing. "Hello?" Light, feminine tones rang out. They were much too feminine to come from her hardened soul, and yet they did. She knew her solace wouldn't last for long. 'Might as well find out who's lurking around here, anyway'. The thorned doe thought to herself, lacking the sense of trepidation that most would have while alone in a strange place. One day, her fearlessness would probably get knocked away, but for now, her mind was fairly set in it's ways. |
