The cougar quickly closes the distance between them in swift bounds. Sand scatters around his feet and whirl up into the breeze, light and flighty in the warm weather. Once the young feline find himself at a two strides distance from the startled prey he gathers the hind legs beneath the slender body and leaps up toward her. The front paws stretch out and try to grab her around the base of the neck, the left paw attempting to dig the claws into the horses pectorals while the other lifts to grab around the whithers. Sharp canines snap hungrily at her, hoping to bury deep into the flesh of her neck; it is an awkward angle, but might still cause long gashes of skin to rip open should the youngster manage with the charge.

Even though the weight of the large cat is not as great as that of the pegasus', it might still throw her out of balance should he crash into her side with the accumulated force added by motion. It is however not planned by the youthful cat, who is too absorbed by the adrenaline that pumps through his veins to think at all; simply acting on instinct, his attack is accompanied by a feral snarl that the cougar consider to be mighty impressive.
