"You spin me right round, baby." The bitter cold of the air bites against your damp skin, which is covered in various amounts of blood and dirt and dried foam from sweat that still lingers. It was just last night that you exhausted your final vine, but it seems already like it was years ago. As you pace by the waterfall, which has slowed to all but a trickle, you snort and look around. There has to be… there has to be… and you look and look, but there are none of your precious vines to be found- not that you really expected them. Your slave girl has all but disappeared and you’re pretty sure she never got around planting your plants. Did you even give them to her? You don’t know. As you walk by a particularly ugly looking tree, you lash out with your hind hoof, metal shoe crashing against bark with cold precision. Your walk does not sway with your usual intoxication, but rather shakes as your body tries to fight against the lack of your drug. Your head bobs furiously as you try to fight off the effects that wreck your body. Periodically, you remember to hit yourself with your drug magic, the spark that pains your mind a small price to pay to feel the intoxicating sensation. Still, for some reason the magic does not have the exact same effect as the plant itself. Perhaps it is something about having the actual compound within your body, perhaps it is that the magic causes the same effects through a different location in your brain… whatever the cause, the magic gives you a high but it does not chase away the tremors that plague you. So you pace and shake and trip over roots and scream and fight against the evil thoughts from your past that return to remind you of everything that you used to love and now hate and bury away.
