The Goddess could remember a time when she was pulled down often from her lofty heights to answer the questions and requests of mortals. Now this calling was much less often. She heard from her Seers a few times a season, from her leaders, and even from a few others unaffiliated with her herd, but whom she would lend an ear to. But it was nothing like it was. The demands had stopped (or were simply ignored). While she liked the peace and quiet she found herself growing bored. She recalled the obligations she created for those looking for magic - her demands that they withstand horrible trials - all in the name of greed. The memories brought a smile to her lilac-tinged lips. It was amazing the lengths that mortals would go, and after they had survived her tests, they would thank her for her kindness.
Such naivety.
Although the Goddess did not particularly enjoy the snow or cold, she lingered longer than she had planned to in the forest. Although her business was taken care of, and the forest seemed (now) largely uninhabited, she paused. Everything was silent. Snow fell around her, gently hiding away stories and secrets. Breathing deeply, she let the frigid air fill her lungs, holding it until her core seemed to cool, and then exhaled a silvery burst of air. Her breath formed small stars that glistened around her, rising and disappearing into the canopy of dark leaves.
Continuing to a small clearing, the Goddess halted. The air grew even more still as her magic infused the clearing, dimming what fell outside of the circumference, and stilling the air within.
