Much had happened in a short time.
Since leaving the chaos that was the meeting of the Foothills herd, Mirage had talked with her own followers, as well as earned a gift she didn't quite know the extent of. But time would unveil all.

The inky mare walked with purpose today, she had to discuss matters of great importance with a new ally. She knew the standing of Gossamer on war - the former Leader of these lands would not have her warriors fight another's battles.. And yet would she have accepted Mirage's aid of physical forces? The mare was glad she would never discover the answer to that question.

But things had changed, Leadership had shifted, and a new order was in place. Smoke had joined the ranks of the Qian; Mirage was glad for her support, but even she could not tell her what exactly an alliance with the Foothills entailed for them.

The mare did not like to ask for help. But she had little choice in the matter; her followers needed a home, and she was their Leader - it was up to her to give them one. Though they would all fight by her side valiantly, she feared their even their strength would not match what they would be up against. A shudder twitched itself down her spine. She shifted her thoughts to the present.

A gentle, harmonic call rang out, the little shadow lingered upon the borders her brothers so often frequented on their patrols. She was sad that they would not join the Qian if they ever earned themselves a homeland, but the importance of showing their dedication to continued support was greater than their own personal yearning to live with their family.

"Paladin, I seek an audience with you." Angelic tones drifted across the lands, a soft dragon's call echoing them. Akaith sat quietly atop Mirage's withers today, the little queen had rarely taken flight since their journey to the Veins. Distracted as she was, Mirage's thoughts were not on the Moon Goddess' gifts right now, but on the matter at hand. She waited.
