Searching for a sweet surrender,
But this is not the end

No, he didn’t talk to many amnesia stricken emotionless mares. In fact, it was quite the opposite. She’d probably get on with Deimos quite well unless their void personalities clashed and there was the fact that the Reaper didn’t say much at all. Either way, he had already concluded that she was a different kind of female from the rest he’d been living with for a while. When she went on to talk about karma the Nightshade found himself agreeing, yes, karma would probably make its way around one day. It had done frequently with d’Artagnan himself. Perhaps terrorising and murdering members of the Helovian public was the reason he was so miserable now. His punishment for taking lives, but still, the Doctor wouldn’t change that past. They deserved their fate and the shade could still feel the satisfaction as they had drawn their last breath. His mind a twisted mess of warped right and wrong, he judged those before him and dealt with them like he was Lord of all things. What goes around comes around now it was time for him to pay for it, but the shade was convinced he wasn’t done with his own macabre deeds.

”There aren't many amnesia stricken emotionless mares to talk to around here. In fact, the female department is often full of emotion.” His voice rang with his usual dry sense of humour and you could almost hear the eye roll in his voice. ”I’m sure you could deal with karma when it comes, as it does come to us all” he sighed at the end. With all her cold rigidness that she had shown him so far, the Doctor concluded that she probably had a decent resolve or at least a capable mind. Maybe he was being to quick to make assumptions, but it was his own take on the mare in front of him.

A grim line set onto his features as her laugh drifted onto his ears at the expense of his already injured pride. She caught on fast that was one thing. Aramis began to flick his tail from side to side and waves of amusement flooded into d’Artagnan’s senses as he stood there, the joker of the party for all to laugh at. He snorted indignantly in Brisé’s direction with a look of mock hurt ”I’m glad you find me amusing” he retorted bluntly, letting the matter drop with relief.

She responded, however, to the impatient look in his stance and his restless gaze. Her words drifting to his ears and he burst forwards like a bird set free of a cage. Aramis bolted from his side and sped off in front, the hound would scent the pathway home and alert his bonded friend of any possible dangers or encounters. d’Artagnan moved eagerly, hoping the mare was keeping up, though surely her one inch in height meant her legs were long enough to match his large stride.

The journey was a lengthy one, the Nightshade attempted to play a good host by showing her the general area of the Hidden Falls as they passed it, the Doctor didn’t know exactly how or where the entrance was to the mysterious herd land. After that, he turned further northwards and into cooler air where snow still lingered in places. Through the frozen archway and across the Steppe until finally he came across the large stone horse that guarded the entrance into the Basin. ”This was built by an unruly old git called Ulrik, he has talents dabbling in machinery, the horse keeps none Basin folk out, but you should be fine once you’ve passed it this once." He informed soberly. d’Artagnan wasn’t much a fan of homemade crafts and artistic flair, but even the shade had to admit he was thankful for the mechanism. At least it stopped random hornless from wandering in unwanted.

Passing the silent guard, the Mender led his small party down the narrow mountain pass and into the Aurora Basin. He didn’t stop until he found a clear vantage point where one could look around and take in their surroundings. ”This is it. Welcome to the Aurora Basin.”
