She wondered what it meant, the words of the Goddess and the promise of gifts, magical aid on their quest to learn more. She wondered, but contained her questions, although with no lack of effort; to bite her tongue when burned by curiosity had never been one of her strong suits. Fortunately she had Kali to distract her away from the agonizing burn of ideas and anticipation, her little gryphon's eager excitement at the appearance of the moon god, her sleepy and dazed wonder at the adventures of late. Kali kept Rishima from getting caught up in ideas of the future or faults of the past; she was a creature of the present, content to cause trouble and stare at shiny things.

At present, she was curled up upon her bonded's back, clutching tightly to the bronze amulet that once hung about the obsidian mare's neck. Rishima had discovered that Kali possessed an intense appreciation for all things that glittered; a fascination that she did not share, but was secretly happy to indulge. The gryphon slept, lulled into relaxation by the sway of Rishima's hips, enjoying the cool night air as the group pressed on towards Thistle Meadow. Sleepiness was quickly encroaching on the mare's own psyche, an edgy battle between enthusiasm and exhaustion raging within her brain, making her excitable, eager, and oddly drowsy. She glanced at Mirage as the pair walked on, wondering if her sister, too, felt the draw of sleep. She suspected that her little shadow would be as restless as she until the mystery of their gifts were unraveled, the final piece to this complex puzzle that had been given them by the Lady of the Moon.

Thistle Meadow smelled delightful in the autumn night, soft and mellow aromas drifting across the breeze, tantalizing her nostrils and trying to tug her into weary sleep. She paused at last beside the stream, muscles sagging with comfortable exhaustion, nape arching downward and maw plunging into the cold water with greedy delight, devouring the refreshing liquid in some attempt to wake herself up. Satisfied, she raised her chiseled tiara into the air, turning to gaze at her sister.

"You look... different." It was the only thing she could think to say, the only way she could explain the sudden, beautiful 'moreness' that enveloped her beloved sister, the radiance she could see but not understand. It was nothing truly discernible, and in her tired state, she could not be certain that the bizarre aura was even there - was it just something she felt, some knowing?

She blinked, once, twice, and stared at Mirage. What had happened to her?
