Having his hearing back was better than he thought it would. At first it seemed like a silent holiday, but the longer it went on the more cumbersome it became. His patrolling had become more arduous, and his obligations were carried out less efficiently than he might have liked. Apparently hearing the voices of others, even when he couldn't always understand them, was more beneficial than he had previously thought.

He had poured one bucket of oil onto the land bridge as the Sun God instructed, but the other bucket, the one crafted by Cera, contained the rest of the oil that he and his Builder had found. It was dark and glistened with a rather beautiful sheen, reflecting all sorts of colours back at him as the light bounced off of its dark surface. Nostrils flaring Gaucho set the bucket down next to Dragon's Tree, thinking that perhaps shade was good for the oil. If it burned perhaps it would ignite in the sun as well? He didn't know, but this struck him as a good idea.

He glanced around for Sikeax who was in charge of this little project. He didn't know what they were going to do with the oil next, whether it was going to be placed on torches or dug into a ditch or ignited some other way. Certainly enough in the Throat had fire magic, so beginning the blaze wouldn't be a problem, nor would keeping it contained. Almost nothing in the Throat burned - and certainly the sands would stop a blaze from spreading should anything be spilled.

Flexing his wings lazily, Gaucho looked up to regard the sun with a gentle sigh. Which would come first? The festival or the completion of their task? He didn't know, although he assumed it would be the former. Gaucho still had more tasks to complete on his end apparently, but the Throat as a whole had to complete their end of the deal as well. He didn't feel that all of his herd felt the same fire in their souls to finish as he did. The thought made him weary and frustrated, for this was not a task that he could simply do for them. They needed to do it all together.

Gaucho is dropping off the other bucket of oil for the festival!
