GAUCHO
& if we should die tonight then we should all die together
Did she see now? Would she understand?

Tandavi had seemed the most hesitant at their meetings, although later Mara tried to suggest that it was simply because she was an equine in a hard of winged creatures. Gaucho knew this, but the arguments regarding precisely why the magical bridge was so important would just resonate in his ears. He was doing this all for them, and even though it seemed many hated him for it, he would protect them.

But today thoughts of the bridge were not ones that he was most focused on. Instead his blood boiled and fury fanned the flames that flit and dripped from his wingtip down to his shoulder. The Basin. They had done it again. Tried to steal from his family. Had his meeting with Ophelia meant nothing? Regardless of the terms that they had come to, this was still unacceptable. They had to know that Gaucho would venture North once again - perhaps this time he would recognize more of the faces who greeted him. Was this what Ophelia had meant by encouraging him to get out more? To come North more? Somehow he doubted the pale red-tipped one dealt in such petty manipulation, but you never knew with her ...

The Basin and Tandavi. Those were the two on his mind. They had tried to attack Tandavi once again. Gaucho knew the mare was beautiful ... perhaps that was the Basin's intrigue with her? Or perhaps all of the baubles she carried, for he had noticed a few flowers that adorned her hair that seemed to never wither or die. Snorting, he shook his head. They would risk the wrath of the Wildfire for a few trinkets? Ophelia would risk it, even though she said that worldly possessions meant little to her? The tension of his ideas of Ophelia and the actions of the Basin pulled and tugged at his mind.

dowwwwwnnn Mara mentally hissed even though the Wildfire saw no one below. At this stage in his quest Gaucho could see no living creature. He couldn't even see Mara, although he could feel her weight and thankfully hear her voice once again. She was his eyes during this stage of the quest, although it had become difficult. His spar with Meg had been ... interesting to say the least. Mara's mental descriptions always came a few seconds later, leaving the Wildfire constantly attacking in the past and relying heavily on his instincts. This was much easier, as Tandavi wasn't flailing about trying to kill him Mara's second-delay imagery worked just fine.

Landing lightly upon the sands a few feet away from his Diviner. With the aid of Mara he turned his muscular body towards the girl, stormy gaze looking onto the sands where no body stood. He tried to mentally picture the girl there but found that he could not. Reality was far too powerful for his primitive mind to project an image onto. "Tandavi." He said, deep voice warm and verging on gentle. At least, as gentle as Gaucho's chords could ever sound. He had protected her thus far but ... with the Basin's insistence on targeting her and his - and the herd's - current quest, he couldn't be around her all the time. He knew she possessed a kitsune, but the Wildfire did not think that would be enough in a battle, should she be captured and have to fight for her release. Snorting softly, Gaucho's dark nose pulled around to his wing (or at least where instinctively he knew his wing to be), and grabbed a hold of something small and glistening. A sun amulet, albiet an empty one.

Dropping it onto the ground, he gave Mara a mental command to gently bite him. A singular drop of blood emerged from his ear after her fangs gently pulled out, causing the magic within his body to stir. Silvery smoke poured from his antlers, immediately lighting on fire. It swirled into the air before being sucked down into the amulet which now glistened brightly with a warm light. "They keep coming for you. Gaucho not know why. Gaucho go back North. Talk to Basin. But that mean I not here to keep you safe - so this will." He indicated, gesturing towards the amulet. "When opened it will take the shape of whatever you imagine. Fire creatures will protect you." He was sure she had seen his creatures before - when he called herd meetings typically birds composed of fire flew above to indicate where they should all meet. Perhaps she was not aware that his creatures could take any shape, though.

Timeline: During stage 3 of his quest where he can't see anyone. Set after Joro's failed stealth at trying to steal Tavi

@[Tandavi] - This doesn't have to be long. Gaucho just wants to protect her <3
