The World's Edge.

The salty seabreeze combined with the musk of pineneedles and treesap, weaving through the aether to tingle the nerve endings that resided within the nostrils of the dragon. It inspired long-forgotten images of her mother's face, of fireplaces warming her scales, of being completely and totally accepted, surrounded by love and comfort.

And the moon.

They had walked together for as long as it took. The dragon enjoyed it, the time with her cousin, the fitness it inspired. A blue spirit hovered near them always, often resting upon either mare, or playing with the small black fox-like creature that danced with them the entire journey. The dragon swirled with trepidation, but she hid it with smiles, musical laughter and unyielding support. She knew her cousin felt thrust upon the throne, that the dancer of flames and passion had not expected to find herself so quickly in charge of so many others, responsible for an entire herd, a family. Just the thought of it, imagining it, weighed heavily upon the dragon; she could not fathom how her precious cousin felt, and so she did her best to provide strength for her, to be whatever her beloved Tavi needed her to be.

It was afternoon, and they arrived at the great glass wall together. Whenever her cousin's eyes explored the surrounds, Amaris' expression dropped, and filled with renewed wonder (and fear) at the world she had once known so intimately. But now everything seemed strange and foreign, frightening and unwelcoming; what if they were chased away before they could even make their request? What if they were turned upon for leaving this moonlit realm, and never returning?

What if they found her mother here?

Tandavi's words broke through the silence that had settled across the dragon's mind, a shiver lifting the hairs and scales across her hide as nerves fired rapidly. The dragon was unusually skittish, prone to leaping into the air at a second's notice. It was the blue that accompanied her today which sent through the soothing, calming waves, that anchored her to remain on this path - there was no turning back, they had to complete this task, and upon its completion, she would surely have proven (to who? Herself? Her former family? Her cousin?) once and for all, that she was truly a member of the Throat, a Disciple of the Sun.

"Sometimes walls fail." Amaris quietly observed the wrecked patches of the wall, sniffing at the wreckage with her scaled maw, her ears twisting atop her tiara as she suddenly, nervously, heard things that could be construed as threats, dangers from which she would need to defend her cousin from.

They stop, and it is as if the pulse of her heart causes her entire world to tremble; she wonders whether her cousin can feel the quaking, shaking pulse that tilts the world she stands upon. But a smile lights up her face, as the blue dragon spirit darts up and above, trilling its musical song through the canopy, announcing their arrival. A small huff left the dragon's nose, as she prepared to add her own song to the melody, her unique and magical combination of equine and dragon. It was a request, a notification of their arrival, a mask that hid all the troubles and fears that filled the dragon's body, mind and soul. But she was stronger than she would have others believe; stronger than she even knew. And the reason for her strength stood by her side, a beautiful, flaming queen of the desert land that was their home.

No need to mirror my post length - I have a horrible case of the rambly writer syndrome!
I like being tagged!
You are always welcome to 'try' and use force/magic on Amaris, but similar to spar posts, leave it to me to decide how the damage is taken please~
