The spotted girl rarely had a heavy heart in her minute lifespan, but today was a new day. With lidded eyes looking only forward, the maiden wasn't quick in her movements. The time passing here had been nice, she had met knew friends and found herself a lovely home, but yet, she still missed her old one. Those beautiful blue eyes that were forever imprinted in her memory shone at her, grey lips tugging into a smile at something silly she had done. Back then she had been so frustrated with mother for teasing her, mocking her when she was trying to be serious, but now it was petty in every way possible. She wouldn't let herself even smile at the fond memories flooding in her mind, for thinking of them only reminded her of what she didn't have. Her mother.

How silly she had been to think that she would find her happily ever after. Her biological mother had left her to die, something she had never really get to her long ago, but losing a second? One that she cherished with every fiber of her being? That, was too much to bear. Not even the beautiful sun sinking behind the horizon could bring her attention from the soft ground, no, very little would probably catch her gaze tonight. She was heading to the only place she could think of, the only place that always brought her peace; Heavenly Fields. She had gained wonderful experiences in this gorgeous land, meeting a stallion with the kindest of hearts, and even practicing how to fly. At the thought her butterfly wings lightly fluttered upon her back, letting a breeze kiss her soft downy mane and neck as a shiver coursed through her. She hated feeling this way, pitying herself when she knew others were in more need than she. She knew there was so much more to her life than the past, but being so young and having so little in store for her, she could only dwell on what she didn't have.

It was when night had finally fallen that she reached her destination, a chilly spring breeze causing her little legs to wobble. Hazel orbs meandered about the landscape under long lashes, as she sought out a resting spot. On top of her aching heart, fatigue had caused her to grow weary, and she yearned for something soft to lie upon. With grey little hooves working their way along a worn dirt trail, pummeled down by many hoofsteps, the little filly finally found a crown of heather sprinkling the fields. As soon as her legs brushed against the feathery softness, they buckled beneath her, her spotted form collapsing in defeat at having to endure so much more than just a long journey. Her front hooves splayed straight before her as her hind ones curved beneath a delicate barrel, and with a soft sight her skull found the cool Earth, where tears had finally shed.

If only she couldn't feel at this moment in time. Were she able to erase all the sorrows in the world, not only hers, then she could deem her life complete and end it with that. Such existential thoughts were unheard of coming from a child, but her mind had been marred, ruined and battered by the concept of being abandoned by those who were supposed to cherish her. As soft whimpers racked her sides, she failed to notice that she wasn't alone. If she had known, she wouldn't have dared let tears fall, to taint her porcelain skin with salty paths, for she would find it selfish to express such emotions to anyone. They were hers, and hers alone to endure.
