Kaj & Kahlua Enter, the broken queen. She had been avoiding the Edge because of the knowledge that the Lady Moon was there. Kahlua had loved her, worshipped her, did everything within her power to please her, and yet… all the while she had been deceived. The Lady Moon had been keeping secrets- a dark woman worthy of her dark magics. The queen had wanted to blame Gaucho for what had happened. He had done the deeds, after all, but Father Earth had convinced her otherwise at the scene of Hototo’s death. It was not Gaucho’s fault, but the goddess’. So… how could the queen live here, lead her herd here, when she knew what horrors the Lady Moon could cause. How could this gentle herd remain under her reign, when their ideals were so very different? It was a philosophical question that was beyond Kahlua’s capacity to consider, especially right now. Her mind was elsewhere, as her widened belly swayed with each step. Father Earth had come to her, asked her of course, but then what choice had she really had to say no? She had tried to bargain for her herd, to help them- a favor for a favor- but she had been unable. And now… Now she had to carry this burden, and she had nothing to show for it. She walked, but her legs felt heavy. Shackles around her hooves reminded her of the prison she had placed herself in. A foal- responsibility. And then there was the glass wall that stood before her, shattered remains of something that had once been vibrant and vivacious. It was her soul, broken and thrown on the ground. She was going to be a mother, and she didn’t even know how to be herself. Sighing softly, she forced her body to continue forward, her stomach swaying. She had stayed hidden for a few weeks, trying to come to terms with this on her own, but she had been unable. She needed help now, and she knew who it was that would help her. Kaj had always been there for her, and she remembered the way he had looked when Parelia’s foal had been born… He would not forsake her now… right? @[Kaj]- sorry for double tag |
