She needed guidance, but not from any of these creatures that were crawling all over Helovia. The gathering for that flood had shown her just how many there were, and just how few intriguing specimens there were. There had been one, a stallion dipped in stars, that had caught her attention (not that she showed it) and she was almost curious to see if their paths would cross again. Today, though, today was not for any of them. The pathetic and the strange and the ugly.

Her eyes had closed after she had stared at her colour-changing ankles for a couple of moments, visions of a happier place getting drawn up from her memory. Where she was someone to be feared, pure and unattainable. And her sisters! They were solitary except for once a year when they all gathered on a beach much like this one - not always the same beach, they would all flock to the nearest one and see who showed up. It was her favourite time of year - swapping stories, bragging about their kills, judging their choices in who they chose as mates.

But… but something changed. The water receded from around her and she opened her eyes to watch it sink farther and farther away, leaving plants and creatures exposed to the harsh sun, before rushing back around her. This was not just ordinary water rushing toward her, however, the thundering of hooves joined with the roar of the ocean and her heart leapt. Could they have actually found her here, in this barren land?

The answer was yes and her heart soared as the water rushed toward her and formed three of the most beautiful being she had ever seen. Sirens in their final form, a part of the sea and manifesting for her now. A smile, bright and genuine - the sort of smile she only had for those she loved, her sweet sisters - washed over her face but their voices caused it to fade again.

“Sisters… help me.” She stood where the water rushed around her - where it was deep enough that the crest of the fading waves crashed against her heart and she felt the connection in her heart. “This land, it took my powers from me. All I have left is the ability to change colour in the water.” At least she had not been left with nothing but the borders of Helovia had taken away her ability to feed herself. “I’m ordinary, just like the rest of them.” There was such vicious distaste in her voice it was far beyond self-pity. “I need your strength, your guidance. Should I leave this place? It’s so different than our usual haunts. I don’t want to give up but without my gifts…” She hadn’t spoken this much since Essetia had asked her about being a Siren, grabbing at the chance to show off for the pretty mare.
