With an ironclad mask settled firmly in place, his emotions are no longer in disarray, which may in fact just scare the girl more. Caleb was not all that sure what frightened the girl. Was he too forward, too caring? If being too caring was an issue, she would not have to worry anymore. Hidden behind a stony facade, compassion was sealed away and he acted with the grace of an elder, not of a young nurse. The distance between the pair does not lessen as she moves away from him when he tries to get closer. The dark titan was not sure what this tomfoolery was, but he shrugged it off, with no intention to decipher the strange language of women.

He finds himself terrified of his heart, it's constant hunger for whatever it is that it desires. The raw emotions of his heart are feared, hidden, caged. Caleb himself does not even know what it is that his heart desires, for he refuses to listen to that part of his body, following his mind instead. It's a safer world for him this way. Caleb is rarely insane, only when he finds his heart has been touched gently, and kindly. For the feelings of love and adoration are often cultivated by soft caresses to the heart, so to find a singular horse penetrating his masks and stony facade, finding a heart, is an intimidating thing for him. This is why he hides his heart. It goes even as far as those around him believing him to be truly heartless, though that is far from the case. His display of compassion towards this mare is a sign that his heart still does have some sort of power over him, forcing him to feel sometimes. Yet, her reaction is somewhat offensive, perhaps even childish or naive. Why would one shy from another that shows compassion? It is this strange and confusing logic that Caleb avoids by wearing a mask and facade, that way no one will ever shy away as Sikeax has done.

"I can't breathe underwater, I'm sure most horses can't," he pauses for a moment, letting his words sink in with her. Had she truly not known that horses weren't able to do that? Caleb wonders what sort of magic or trickery this girl possesses. Is she really all sweet and innocent? Surely there is a fire somewhere in there. It's only a matter of finding a lighter and igniting it.

As she moves further away from him, he avoids stepping closer now, figuring the girl enjoys her space (but for what reason he does not understand). She tells him that she doesn't know. His brow furrows at her answer and his gaze travels to the dark waters, wondering if the water would offer more answers to his questions. When his gaze does return to her, she stands in a position that would enable her to run easily if spooked. However, if she does decide to run, he'd only chase her, assuming she was playing around. He'd never let such a fascinating horse slip away from him. "I am Caleb." He tries to dance closer to her at one last attempt, his head is stretched out, muzzle reaching for her. He quietly wonders if this will just scare her more. He only seeks friendly 'nose-bump' greeting.

Ooc: SO SORRY FOR WAIT <3 @[Sikeax]

a cold-hearted man was once a man that once cared too much.
