Consider your origin. You were not formed to live like brutes but to follow virtue and knowledge.
She couldn't explain why, but the girl felt the need to seek out Kahlua.

The girl had weened herself away from Kahlua's milk as soon as possible. Grass tasted bitter and foreign, but she had forced herself to swallow every mouthful, conditioning her body to the taste regardless of how her taste-buds rallied against it. The dependency of the whole process gave the girl strength to break away. Her body might need the sustenance that Kahlua's milk provided, but the girls' mind - an organ that she valued about all others - demanded freedom and independence. So her body had perhaps been malnourished for a time, but her godly blood took care of that in no short order. Despite that fact that she had only been alive for half a season, her body looked far, far older. Already her legs had lengthened thanks to Kahlua's TB heritage, but it was not only her breeding showing through: she was older than she should have been. Accelerated somehow.

Although perhaps it was not so surprising. She was the child of the Earth God after all.

But ... she was also just a child.

For some reason she felt compelled to tell Kahlua that she had still not settled on a name. Oddly enough, she had tried to think up K names, only none came to her. The boy she had met in the woods had known a different language, and so instead of writing off the idea completely, she merely let it percolate. Perhaps there was a K name she could use in another tongue? She would not discount the idea until she had checked all relevant facts. As it was now however, nothing had come to mind.

There was also the acorn around her neck, that glowed with the encouragement of her father. Like many others she had completed his tasks with ease, with Aithniel at her side. Had Kahlua similarly completed the tasks and been rewarded? The girl wondered. She had perhaps inappropriately discounted Kahlua's knowledge of the world, but after their encounter in the Woods had rethought that position significantly. Was that what drove to the girl to the painted queen now? A desire to rectify her past judgement of her? Or was it something more? Something to do with perhaps the blood they shared?

The girl wandered through the Edge in her normal form, which was actually quite strange. Normally she traversed their shadowy and misty home in her raven form. Indeed, most of the herd more easily recognized her as such, than in her quad-horned winged form. Still, unconsciously the girl wanted to make it easier to Kahlua to notice her.
