The dense foliage of the deep forest trailed behind the dappled blur as she sped through the terrain. The air was cooler here, not as arid as in the Heart. It felt good on her well used lungs. She had been randomly targeted with a bite from a strange mare in the last portion of the race, and the experience only left her seething. Rude little tramp! She spit insults inwardly at the bully. She hadn't been treated this badly in her old world, and was at a loss of how to rectify the act. Just win, Bella. The dove told herself, thinking of what her humans would have guided her to do.

Nasty pieces of stone laid like mines in the grasses, threatening to trip and maim even the steadiest steeds. Even with her years of racing experience, Bellatrix had to be extremely cautious to avoid the wretched things. She was used to desert, not grass or snow. Silently, she remained aware of the new terrain and it's differences. Hooves carried her from the veil of grasses into snow laden footing. Flecks of ivory flew up around her limbs, their cold a relief to her heated form. Mountains loomed ominously ahead. With the added determination of her earlier attack, the silver doe galloped on towards the Steppe.
