Laughter flooded the air around her, and Lakota turned her head over her shoulder as if in a daze. It reminded her of a foal, its intrinsic innocence, and with her mind on babies she swore she could almost imagine it was her own child whose laughter pervaded the air. All she found was a flurry of feathers, descending in droves, kissing her flanks with their tiny filaments. A remnant of what they'd experienced together. The Poisoner gazed down at the bundle on the earth at her hooves, a pillow of feathers, and decidedly did not mourn them. A tiny smile creased her pretty face. Ktulu's words still rang harmoniously in her head, a love that transcended form and conquered future. There was no reason to mourn them.

Turning, she laughed aloud. Muzzle lifted to the taller mare, soft and pink and velvet. Searching for a kiss of celebration in her exaltation. They had finished, they were strong and sure and together. Lakota could handle the rest, no matter what the Earth God threw at her. "We did it!" she cried happily, dancing in her spot as she found herself with a loss of breath that was both sudden and expected in her delirious excitement. Heaving in a breath to calm herself and not embarrass herself even more than normal. She'd already revealed too much of her inner, softer side. Ktulu often brought that out of her, sadly enough as she felt at times, but there was still a long journey to the Veins in their future.

"Let's go get our baby," she whispered, eyes alight with violet fire. Turning, she led the way away from the clearing; the scarred-up tree, the pond, the feather piles. Their history laid out in random things that nobody else would care to wonder about. They'd never know what had occurred, how important it all had been in the lives of another.

Lakota would know.

Days slipped by on the travels, the bears returned to their faithful stead, no longer in danger of a quest neither Ktulu nor Lakota could have prepared for or foreseen. There was no need for loneliness with her mate at her side, and though she was anxious to return to the Veins and therefore pushing her body farther than she normally would have, there was also no reason to not enjoy the time alone she'd finally been given with her mate. Still, the appearance of the Veins was an ecstatic moment, and she rushed to the Earth God's shrine, her past annoyance with him temporarily forgotten in her excitement for the new life just within her reach. Bowing, unable to manage a kneel with how her knees shook and hooves danced, the blue called out to the Lord in a quiet, wavering murmur.

"We have completed your task. Please hold council with us," she begged of the empty, silent shrine. Her blood was like gasoline, prepared to be lit on fire. All her dreams were finally coming true.
