With the white ring behind her and forests unfolding below and before her, the young gryphon gazed ahead of her at the winged horses whose wings beat the air before her. Closest to where she flew was the somewhat familiar sight of the dragon hybrid from the Qian meeting, his broad wings disturbing the air with heavier thumps than anyone else she could easily spot. Behind her she knew someone flew, for she'd heard the wing-beats of one winged horse falter moments after she'd noticed a flock of birds pass behind her. Too bad for whoever that was.
But her attention stretched beyond the nearest fliers, gaze focusing on a new collection of colored rings. Barely she could distinguish how they changed from purple to silver, mostly by the metallic glint that the further ones progressively acquired. And then she was angling through the first, purple one and winging toward the next. She had little thought of gaining ground on her fellow competitors, her eyes all for the growing circle of each ring that was more than wide enough for her small frame to pass through even with wings spread. But she did keep some awareness of where others flew, if only to keep from being buffeted by turbulence.
