“Hello there, little princess.” Meg greeted softly, smiled gently as the little filly approached. As tough as the mare was, she was quite susceptible to the charms of foals and this one was a beautiful little thing, just as sweet and small as Mordecai had been. There was a pull of regret in the bay that her adopted daughter’s first hours could not have been as peaceful as this filly’s had been. She wouldn’t be yours if they had been. a little voice reminded her, and Meg was thankful enough for that.
She stood still as the little body moved around her to investigate, but her focus shifted back to the white mare as the dove spoke. As willing as she had been to help, she was thankful that the pair needed no service of her. Seeing these two little ones had made Megaera even more anxious to get back to Mordecai as quickly as she could. The little filly wobbled back to hide under Gaucho with her strange brother. The sultan seemed completely besotted by the tiny pair, and Meg chuckled at the sight. The whole foursome made quite the picture of contentment and Meg had the sudden image of herself with Mordecai and Einarr. There was certainly less harmony between that haphazard family the Earth God had constructed, but Meg shrugged off the notion that it should be anything else and smiled at Sohalia instead. “I will leave you then.” The said with respectful nods to the two adults “And the Sun’s blessings to your family.” And the bay turned to march toward the edge of the oasis and the end of her patrol.
