Curiosity draws her like a moth to a flame, proudly arched tail hooking between her powerful thighs as she saunters towards the meeting. There is quite a crowd already gathered, including a number of familiar faces - Kahlua, Mauja, Blue-Marking-Lightning-Mare-Who-Shits-From-A-Great-Height. The meaning of the meeting is obvious; to elect new leaders. New monarchs to take control of the new Edge, after half their number disappeared off into the Falls after the invasion. An invasion that Nyx is still rather salty about missing, truth be told. Having to stay behind like a child hadn't sat well with her, as she'd itched to bathe the world in blood like the warrior she was.
The silver soldier would be lying if she said she wasn't a little tempted to run for the lead position herself, though. She has all the necessary attributes; strong-minded, strong-bodied, diplomatic, open-minded. She could lead the Edge into a new era of glory, a crowned queen like her mother before her. How proud darling Querida would be of her once-blind, broken little daughter! Oh, what an empire Nyx could build, full of strong fighters of every race, a herd feared but revered the world over. She is about to speak up, add her voice to the din, but she hesitates. Next to her, Dominus lurks, his own hunger for kinghood obvious in the hunch of his powerful back and the way his tongue darts free to lick his blackened lips. Is she really qualified to lead? She has always followed, always obeyed; she is a soldier, not a queen. She needs orders, needs direction. Is she the right person to lead the Edge? The answer is no, probably not. With a resigned sigh, she decides against trying - but she will have her input, over all the squabbling. "Maybe they should fight for it," she suggests pleasantly. "After all, we need at least one leader willing to get their hooves dirty on the battlefield." The warrioress would not obey a coward; she respected only those that had defeated her in battle or who she had seen to be strong. Perhaps one Edge leader could be more peace-orientated, but Nyx needs the other to be a man or woman after her own heart, else serious decisions will need to be made over her own future. ----- |
