WILLOW & ERMINE

Willow's great haste to make it through the snowy landscape soon has her overwhelming her opponents, a fact she takes little relish in while the cold still nips at her feathered feet and sets her tree to a gnarled wilt.

Breaths come out like dragon smoke as Willow, huffing and puffing, finally slows once the ice begins to shift to grass. All that movement had jostled loose many of her tree's leaves and it sets her mane to a frizz, which the cloudy moisture happily clings to. A stitch weavs its way in her side, a sore reminder that since leaving the guard in Prim'sylvia she was terribly out of shape.

More than happy to settle back into a casual walk, Willow glances around as a pair of other horses whizz past. Her tail billowes in the wake of their speed. She shakes her head; water droplets fall out like diamonds, quickly replaced as the fog drifts over. It feels overly suffocating and warm compared to the dry chill she just traversed. Fretting dreadfully that the abrupt changes of temperature will harm her plant further she extends her stride. "Poppy!", she calls out to the strange girl, just now realizing she'd lost her at some point in her frantic dash across the snow. Through the drifting mist of the Edge she can see little, an absolutely worthless endeavor when her main purpose for racing was to explore. Anxious to see Poppy but even more anxious of her plant Willow drifts about, glancing back constantly before. "Poppy we're almost there, let's go!" she hollars out to the girl. Ears twitch in vain to hear a response but eventually the droop of her tree limbs sets her back into motion.

Like a great rocking wave of earth she crosses the finish line, happy to be finished with this.

Nervously she turns and looks out to catch the arrival of Poppy. If need be she would go back for her, but she hoped there'd be no need.
