The mare ploughed onwards, grateful for the sureness of foot her breeding naturally possessed, ever more grateful still to the dragon that aided her from above. Akaith was able to fly high above her and give her tidbits on which parts of the track had been eaten up by those running ahead of her, and around her, as well as mention any obstacles that Mirage might need to leap over or skirt around. Fallen trees, and weaving one's way through the border of the World's Edge herd would have slowed her down significantly had the mare not been born into such a forested environment - she knew her way through the wooded area, even if she was only touching the borders of the lands - every advantage would count.

The Edge gave her strength, strangely, for with its passing by her speedy hooves, she thought of the Goddess of the Moon, her beloved Lady Luna, and hoped that she performed well in the silver and violet immortal's eyes. Salty, briny air permeated her nostrils as she continued south, checking her speed once more as the land turned from forest undergrowth to sand dunes. They were hard work, but Mirage knew how to trek them, choosing a path where no others' footprints sullied the sand, making even the loose, deep sand slightly firmer and easier for her to push herself forward off of.

But she aimed for the compact wet sand that was constantly re-dampened by the ocean's lapping waves. Once there, she was able to run faster again, and did so, stretching her serpentine-like nape out flat, breathing in time with her strides, spraying water up behind her should a wave make it close enough to feel the sudden pressure of her hooves. Akaith trilled triumphantly above her, flying equally hard and fast to keep up, enjoying every second of it. Before them, stood their Lady Luna, and Mirage sung out to her, a greeting, a prayer, an adoring cry. When she reaches the finish, she feels the great brick wall of exhaustion almost knock her over. She is dripping from sweat, coated with a sprinkle of salt, but the mare, usually so impassive and indifferent, wore a satisfied smile today.

Bringing herself back to a slow trot, and then a brisk walk, she is urged by her dragon to continue walking, and does so, in the shallows of the Endless Blue, where the great sea dragon had once risen and gifted her with the amulet that swung about her nape. The cooling waters aid her racing heart to restore balance to her exhausted body, but she is still alert, and eagerly awaiting what her beloved deity would have to say.
