Sky turned her muzzle to the shining sun, a cold wind cut through her silky charcoal locks as her bouncy trot rustled through the thick layer of leaves on the forest floor. Oh what a day this was! The sun was shining brightly on the late autumn scene, brightening up the many brown hues, and causing the leaves that were left on the trees to almost glow when they caught the yellow rays.

She planted her back feet into the soft ground before she trampled through a skinny stream of water. She bowed her head and lipped the small crisp water, forelock and mane falling over her eyes in the swift movement. She paused before bringing her crown up again. Nostrils flared sniffing the ground around her. Dirt and leaves swirled around in rhythmic puffs as she brought in all scents around her. Eyes flickered with worry for a moment as she smelled many different strange smells. Many horses have come through here. There are also several that are consistent.

Sky slowly craned her neck back and ears swiveled around searching for the sudden panther that must be hiding and ready to pounce on her. Something skittered by, violently breaking her wonderful silence and she nearly jumped out of her skin. Ears pricked and nose snorting, she balked at the spot the noise was made. Wide eyes followed the little red squirrel bounding up a nearby tree. A light airy whicker left her flared nose, as she made careful steps forward, resuming her journey.

She started to analyze the area around her now, the bouncy mare now more careful and wary. She must be entering into some sort of herd lands. A place that must not be so bad if so many others came here before her. Her elders told her she must journey out, find others, 'fulfill her prophecy.' What prophecy was that? What was she meant for? What could she ever offer the world...how could she ever become a great queen like her mother and bring greatness back to her old home? How could she ever be as strong and brave as her father?...when she never even had the chance to know them. She looked up to the clear sky, eyes catching the weak suns rays and turning them into bright amber pools. A small question slipped up to the heavens 'are you watching over me?'
