Aelin

Dreams paint the sky in the brightest colours. They are the dreams of crimson, gold, ivory and violets. Mixing together and creating the most beautiful colour show known to none but the Dreamwalker.

She looked so much like her papa, yet she hardly ever saw her. She barely even knew about her other siblings! Except Hawke. Little baby Hawke whom she adored with every single bone in her body, he would be the most special soul in her life...probably forever! Over the past few months she had grown, her legs had moved from tiny little stumpy things to longer, lengthy and elegant stems. Her body and mind had also matured, not only was she taller but she was a slightly less childish in her thoughts. Her colour hadn't changed much since her birth, perhaps her legs where a little darker and her coat a little brighter. Still Aelin was very much herself and as usual she was looking for one of two things : trouble or her brother.

Having not seen for twin for sometime, she was quite curious to see how much he had grown! Perhaps he would be taller than her already! Before she had never paid much mind to how much or little her brother stood over her, instead it was more about who could pull each other's hair the hardest. Today she was exploring the sands again, searching for her brother. Perhaps he was still with their mother, at the time of their birth and indeed a little after she had been much braver than he! As luck would have it she spied a figure in the distance, picking up her hooves she hurried towards the stranger to meet them, only she quickly realised that it was not a stranger.

Finally she had found Hawke.

Letting out a squeal of pure delight Aelin began to bolt towards her twin, before she was evem within shouting distance she dbegan possibly screaming for her twin. "HAWKE!!" The dream walking princess' voice was still very high pitched and childish despite her recent growth. Another squeal of delight sounded from the young girl as she hurried over to him. He stood there staring out towards the land beyond, which was curious...perhaps they should swim across the sea together and enter the other lands! Discover what was out there.a wavering thing in the warmth of the desert. Despite the shift in seasons it was still... though that would probably displease father and mother greatly. Aelin had never been the 'good' child, she enjoyed adventure and danger.

Once again the owl was accompanying her brother. In the beginning she had not understood the bond and until she actually had a companion of her own she would not know how it felt. Yet she knew that the owl hardly left her brother's side and that the creature kept Hawke safe. Something Aelin could only be grateful for...it meant that she didn't have to do it all the time. One day the filly would get a companion of her own and then she would also have the good fortune to experience the joy of being bonded to another soul. Until then however her brother would just have to put up with her. You can imagine the shock she felt as the owl took off however. Not that she was complaining- it would allow her to greet her brother in peace. "Hawke!" She called again, begging to be heard this time. "Hawke! Brother!"

Yet as she arrived at her brother side a strange voice filled her ears, turning she quickly realised that a (kid you not) cactus was screaming at them. She couldn't help it, a cactus was screaming at them furious about something their father had done. "How is it Hawke's fault it is our sire's fault?" Aelin asked the enraged bush, she felt quite smug at the question. Again it was screaming at them, asking who their sire was.

HONESTLY!

One minute this bush knows everything about them and the next it has to ask who their father is. It was most confusing! Aelin tilted her head to the side, staring at the strange plant.

For only she can see the beauty of true desires.
I guess jealousy's the curse that the struggle inspires.
