Thick, dark clouds had blotted out the midday sun and the frigid wind had picked up rather suddenly which could only mean that there was a storm on the way. Snö frowned as she took shelter in the forest. The thick canopy overhead made it even darker in the forest and the mare silently cursed herself for leaving the Edge and heading out to the forest. There was only a thin layer of the powdery white snow that covered the forest floor, so that gave her a little hope that she would be spared from the blizzard that she suspected was coming. Still, she would rather be home in the Edge. At least there she could huddle up with someone for warmth because they were all in the same boat. Even the cave she'd isolated herself in in the Arch would be better than being stuck out in a storm. As Snö moved through the forest the wind worsened and she could hear the trees groaning as they swayed. The snow that had accumulated in the branches began to fall in heaps and the mare found herself dodging the falling bundles of snow. Gradually, Snö moved deeper into the forest and the deeper she moved the less the wind seemed to rattle the trees. When she finally stopped she sighed in annoyance. "Wonderful."
