Ki’irha

Ki'irha's eyes tracked the hovering mare, and a scowl crossed her harden face. Though Ki'irha was new, she was familiar enough with the ways of this herd that she knew one of these winged beasts was far from welcome here. She snorted in a hard laugh, glaring at the pegasus. Was this some joke? "Technicalities will not win you any points here. You are close enough to the ground for me to consider you intruding. Though, perhaps you belong to the flock of pigeons that just flew by? In that case, they are headed south, perhaps you should go catch up."

Another showed up, which was a distraction for the midnight mare to keep her from trying to yank the newcomer out of the sky. Though, how effective thay would be could be wondered. Ashamin, who she had seen at the announcement of her new rank, had arrived from the darkness of the night. Her features softened as he whispered her name, and touched his cheek to her's. "Ashamin," she replied, her voice as gentle as his. The black and white stallion then moved on from her, turning his attention to the trespasser. He spoke with kindness, but she know -or at least hoped- he wasn't stupid, and would not fall to the tricks of a outcast. If they let one in, why not allow them all in?

"Perhaps, stranger," she began, words not nearly as cold as her initial statement but still icy all the same, "you should continue your search elsewhere. Unfortunately, we're all filled up, without an empty cave in sight. And our welcoming party is out of town, so tonight simply isn't the best time for a pop-in. Besides, you don't seem too tired, since you're still flapping around up there instead of being on the found like a normal creature." Typically a kind mare, she would provide shelter to most other vagabonds. But this creature had already shown disrespect, so did not deserve the opportunity. Though nearly wholly focused on this exchange, her mind was not fully focused. She hoped Ashamin did not think her a cruel mare simply based on this event. But that would be handled later.
