From the strange, electric pouch around Mauja's neck, a stirring begins. The egg quivers back and forth, before a small crack breaks through the shining cover of the shell. A beak, like dark glass, reaches through the slightly blue tinted egg, the first sign of the life within. The electric strings suddenly pull up, over Mauja's head and float through the air only to nestle the struggling egg gently in the ground at his feet.

Back and forth the shell shakes, until the small schism enlarges, revealing more of the tiny creature held inside. When the long process is over, a small owl, pristine white except for a dark navy speckles that run over its feathers in an array of patterns. The odd colored spots seem to glisten, much like the shell from which it arose, with a light sheen. The owl turns its large, inquisitive eyes of shocking, ice blue, toward Mauja, and a hungry mouth opens to release a screech.
