It’s – over, she sighed. The god battle was over and, having distanced her a bit from the battlefield, she let her tiger-striped body fall into the grass and bamboo... and everything else green that was now crushed beneath her body. She sunk away into the vegetation. Her skin still ached with boils and stung with burns, but she was now just tired. Tired of using magic, tired of reacting, of doing without understanding. Nevertheless a thin drape of mist hang around her like an old friend, seeking comfort in each other.

But where was the comfort, she questioned as something hard poked into her back. The exhausted priestess rolled over to see what it was. In the lush greenery something gold shimmered dazzlingly and beautiful. The something must have fallen through curled stems: There, in the dark compost, lay a golden amulet. A sun amulet, she realized with wonder. She picked it up and buried the treasure safely in the depths of her other wing’s armpit, turning back to her thoughts with new fire burning in her speculating mind.

A Bear God, a Wolf God’s; both dead… No, killed by mortals.

Somehow she felt strangely intrigued, dumbfounded, amazed. … And who knew what would happen next? When would their mere immortalized mortality be defied next? Who would? Did it change the value of their being, did it change the prospects of their nude existence?

Forever — forever and forever she would continue her search for the cornerstones of her life. After all, she hold so much, but still too little. But how could she know what to let go of and what to pick up from the ground when some treasures were so camouflaged by the senseless distaste of her seeking mind. But if this meant she could just find a road of her own, draped in just the right brightness for her eyes to see through shade and sun, she might  — just might — someday actually succeed and finally find peace and Purpose.

But then she realized: No, because then there would also be chaos. All reasoning behind everything would be lost if all Gods would die — or would be able to.

And thus she simply continued laying there; in the midst of bent bamboo stems and deep-green ferns. “What do you think?” she asked in a senseless whisper to a dragonfly just about to rush away.
What was her worth — What was it now?

(Because her sun-amulet finding was long overdue :| )

Set after the labyrinth battle; she tiredly finds a more quiet spot to rest and sits cozily in the bamboo and farns. c:
